Rushnyky are woven or embroidered towels with a ceremonial and decorative purpose in Eastern European cultures. Learn much more about rushnyky and design your own from start to finish as part of this course.

Didukh is a special sheaf of wheat or grain that is woven to stand like a tree. Didukhy are prepared in each Ukrainian home around Christmastime, and kept til the beginning of Lent (Maslyanka). They are an integral part of the holidays- holding a place of honour at the family holiday table.

Gain insight into the stylistic world of folk painting and folk iconography. This workshop will focus on the imagery used in the winter folklore. Participants will be given guided instruction on how to incorporate myth and folklore themes into a beautiful stylized piece of art.

Offering introduction to hand embroidery classes as a fall course. Learn the most common basic stitches and how to work them optimally to create simple pieces that delight and satisfy you, in just a few weeks.
